Lines:
This is an example of what you don't want to see at your place. These lines were installed prior to insulation and sheet rock as well as painting. If you look at the close up the copper tubing in just cut off and left open. Contaminants from the construction process can get into the lines as well as moisture on the hot humid days we have had. Both are a killer to the ductless mini split heat pump. The lines should have been pinched off and sealed to avoid that problem. The customer is unsuspecting that this is even a problem. The price for this job was no doubt less expensive then other contractors that would have done a correct job.
Outdoor Unit:
You don't want this either. With the outdoor unit on the ground there is no place for the water to go in the winter. The water will freeze under the unit and the ice will build up into the unit and cause it to fail. If the unit is air conditioning only then it will not have any water in the winter. It still however should be elevated so it dosent sit in the snow all winter.
